This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Picture Exchange Communication System (Pecs) method in improving the language skills of children with autism. Research result shows the increasing of pointing, mentions, and saying behaviors from baseline session to intervention session. Level changes that occurred in some conditions showed an increasing followed by a trend that has increased sharply. Behavior subject 1 (JN), 2 (AM), and 3 (RF) on the ability of pointing and saying, increased from the low category into the high category. The ability to say increase from the low into the medium category. This indicates that the application of PECS is effective in improving the behavior of pointing, mentions, and saying as part of the language skills of children with autism in kindergarten of special needs in Pontianak.
